2019 Earth Science Week photo competition winners announced

Antarctic ReflectionsThe Geological Society is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Earth Science Week photography competition, “Geoscience is for everyone”. 

For the first time, we welcomed photos taken around the world. The winning photographs showcase the rich diversity of environments in which our photographers, live, work, and travel.

First place is awarded to Ingrid Demaerschalk for ‘Antarctic Reflections’ (pictured). Second place goes to Rob Storrar for ‘Fresh Out the Box’, and third to Leith Livingstone for ‘Rainbow Mountain’*.

The 12 winning images will be printed in a 2020 calendar. All 12 images will also feature in a free exhibition at the Geological Society to mark Earth Science Week (12-20 October 2019).
