Support our collections

Since 2009 our Fellows, Friends and Corporate Patrons have generously donated over £20,000 to conserve and digitise some of the earliest material from the Society's collections. On these pages you can find out more about supporting the Library through our appeals, and about some of our completed conservation campaigns.

Greenough's World

New - Greenough's World 2020

Support our appeal to fund the digital preservation of the map collection of one of the Society's founders, and first President, George Bellas Greenough (1778-1855).

Sponsor A Book

The Society's Rare Book collection is one of the finest collections of antiquarian books on geology and related subjects, containing approximately 3,500 volumes. With your sponsorship we can conserve these titles for future generations, with the emphasis on being as true to the original binding as possible.

Sponsor A Fish

Find out about our successful campaign to conserve and digitise one of the most important collections housed in the Geological Society’s Archive: the fossil fish portfolio of Louis Agassiz (1807-1873), comprising nearly 3,000 watercolours and drawings.
