Applied Seismology Consulting (ASC)

Introduction to InSite seismic processing software

Date: 30 - 31 March 2022

Course Content: This course is primarily intended for new InSite users who have not previously used the InSite seismic processing software. The course may also be suitable as refresher course for previous and existing users. Some basic knowledge and understanding of the basic steps in the processing of seismic data would be beneficial. The material covered in this course is applicable to the suite of InSite products (InSite-Lab, InSite-Geo, InSite-HF and InSite-Edu) and will cover the following areas:
  • Project setup and data management
  • Data import and event harvesting 
  • Phase picking and autoprocessing 
  • Event location
  • Data export
The course will be delivered online and includes hands-on tutorials and handouts in electronic format.

This is a one (1) day course split over two (2) days, Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st of March 2022; sessions will be 13:00 to 17:00 (GMT+1) on both days.

Advanced use of InSite seismic processing software

Date: 28 - 29 April 20022

Course Content: This course is intended for existing users of the InSite seismic processing software, who have a good understanding of the basic steps and procedures of processing seismic data using ASC’s Insite software. The course covers the use of advanced features and tools which are available in the InSite-HF software package and also as optional plugins which can be used with the other InSite software products (e.g. InSite-Geo, InSite-Lab):
  • Event location in complex media (layered and 3D velocity models)
  • Source mechanism on uniaxial and triaxial MS data
  • Seismic array design and performance analysis
  • Velocity model calibration
  • Analysis tools: Fracture network analysis, parameter charting, b-value analysis, clustering
The course will be delivered online and includes hands-on tutorials, handouts in electronic format and a 7-day licence of InSite-HF.

This is a one (1) day course split over two (2) days, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th of April 2022; sessions will be 13:00 to 17:00 (GMT+1) on both days.
