The Geological Society Library is pleased to announce a special geological drawing class, ‘Carbon on Carbon’.

Travel back in time to the Carboniferous Period and learn about life on Earth over 300 million years ago. With guidance from an experienced tutor, draw the fossilised remnants of marine and plant life using carbon-based drawing media.  The event takes place in our beautiful Grade II* listed Victorian library and all materials will be provided.

The class will be led by Emma Jude, a Fellow of the Geological Society and industrial geologist, who is also an art teacher and practising fine artist. Her own art work focuses on multi-layered and geologically inspired landscapes and fossil paintings, mostly in drawing and in oils.
