Event details 

This event will be split into three sessions (approx. 20 mins each) to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the International Association of Engineering Geology (IAEG), followed by a Q&A and discussion session at the end.


Session 1: 'Past'

A summary of IAEG activities within the UK, and further afield, that have helped to influence and shape our profession over the last 20-30 years.

Speaker: Prof Jim Griffiths (IAEG UK / Chair of IAEG 006 Congress, Nottingham)


Session 2: 'Present'

Current IAEG activities and what the IAEG is doing as part of its celebrations.

Speaker: Prof Vassilios Marinos (IAEG President)


Session 3: 'Future'

A more holistic look at the challenges facing engineering geology and geoscience more widely, including recruitment and retention. 

Speakers: Mark Lee (Hydrogeology Group Chair) & Dr Helen Reeves (IAEG Vice President, Northern Europe & IAEG UK National Group President)


The event will be followed by the Engineering Group (EGGS) Annual General Meeting (AGM).
