Hull School of Art and Design is hosting a one-day interdisciplinary symposium to explore aesthetic interpretations of landscape and to illustrate the richness of collaborations between artists and geologists.

This one-day interdisciplinary symposium will:

  • Widen physical, environmental and aesthetic interpretations of our personal landscapes
  • Provide a balance between historical interdisciplinary evolutions and contemporary practices
  • Illustrate the richness and legacies of art-science collaborations in this field
  • Excite, intrigue and inform a wide array of student, academic and public audiences
  •  Provide a mixed arena for dialogue, networking and potentials for future collaboration

Call for Posters & Exhibits

Are you involved in an interesting project or in an area of work that involves geology and the visual Arts?

The symposium is open for submissions of Posters and Exhibits related to the theme of geology and art. Your topic could be described on a printed poster or by photographs, graphics and text, video, or by arts objects or specimens.

The deadline for submissions is 6 September. For more information and to download an application form, visit the symposium website.

The Symposium forms part of On the Endless Here, a geologists/artists collaboration inspired by Flamborough Head, Yorkshire.
